I have always been authentic and true to who I am (on most days). Sometimes I tone it down because I can be quite obnoxious at times (especially at home) and it’s just respectful of others to be kind. I try to acknowledge others by being mindful of their humanity. But alas, I am only human and fall short many of times (like we all do). I am not trying to toot my own horn (yes, I am) about how great I am when I post here on social media. I just assume that people understand that I am completely flawed in some areas like the rest of us. And…

And it’s going to be very lovely in Seattle. The quitely kept secret in the Emerald city is that it doesn’t rain as much as it is rumored. In fact, we get a longer springtime which is a very good thing in mine eyes. This spring has a lot of projects in the making. More painting, more recording and with that much more writing of poetry. So let me get this straight. Unarmed black people are being murdered by those who are supposed to protect and serve. Trump is a vile and racist human being sitting as President for America soon to be dick-tator and at least 46% of people want it that way. Multi-national corporations have ruined our eco-system with their greed and claiming individual status to garner rights over the average person. Racism and violence is running rampant in every part of the globe. Women of color are disappearing and showing up murdered at alarming rates. ICE is doing abhorrent things to people who are seeking asylum here in America. And the horrid list…

Finally, my husband and I applied for our passports. We were so stoked! Hopefully, all will go thru without a hitch and will be in our eager little American hands soon. Even though, soon is more like months. No one knows how long it will actually take with COVID-19 creating havoc in the world as we live it. I am so grateful for my life. That I get to live in a cool town, with cool people, and a loving husband, making music/poetry. We don’t have kids but we teach kids almost everyday of our lives. It’s very rewarding. I want to lose myself in a lofty world like anybody else. But some people are choosing to hate more fear more. I know it sounds cliche but we’ve got to do much better as a human species. Yes. We are all human and deserve love, kindness and respect. No place for hierarchies and hateful drivel. It’s time to make amends the wrong doing we’ve done to black folks and people of color. Just because we have brown skin doesn’t mean we don’t feel pain. As I have said before, I am warm inside like you.
